Family + Fro + Lick = Family Frolic!!!

The annual family gathering for my work friends and family was a couple weeks ago. And in case you dont get the title of this blog, the picture of the back of the shirt should explain:

This year, Beth planned a super fun time at the bowling alley. Of course not everyone comes to events like these, but we had over half of the employees of PPHHC there and their family members. My mom, Beth, Matt and I all played on the same lane and of course Matt schooled us all but some games were pretty close. I think I got over 100 for 2 of 3 games so it was a success in my book.

Here are some pics from the day:

Mom, Matt and me

Keona and Kim

Jesse and his crew
Beth, my mom, and Starr

And what family/friend gathering would be complete without a group photo. Sadly this will likely be my last family frolic because I was laid off on Wednesday. So, if you know of a pharmacy tech job or another fun job you would like to suggest, let me know. I am awaiting the results of an interview I already had last week but am still looking at other options as well.

Smiling Bill is gone forever!!!

Back in March, our owner decided to hire a temporary pharmacist, who we so lovingly called "rent-a-pharmacst" to fill in on Tuesdays. Little did I know that I would come to dread Tuesdays for the next two months. I never took a picture of him with my camera but here is a picture of exactly what he looks like:

Yes, that is Smiling Bob from the enzyte commercial. Now our pharmacists name was Bill but we have a Bob in the pharmacy so sometimes we accidentally called him Bob. And to make matters worse, this other guy would play the Enzyte commercial song everytime Smiling Bill would walk into the room for a few weeks. Bill carries his coffee like this, smiles like this, wears clothes and hair like this guy and creeped me out bigtime because he was as Seinfeld would put it, "a close talker and a loud talker" I thought I would never make it when he was here every day for a week straight. Everyday he would come in at 8:00 am with his coffee and talk in the one voice he knew how to use, his outside voice all day and ask me questions that I have already ansered like 17 jabillion times, but nonetheless, I did survive and now he is gone forever because we no logger are in need his assistance. Even though it is slow at work, it is a little more stress free because I dont have to fret Tuesdays anymore.

New job with a new office :)

Well as most of you know by now, I started a new job in January. Although it isnt as laid back as the church job is it has been fun and interesting so far! I made some new friends that make the day entertaining but I miss everyone from the church staff alot though. At least we still get together for lunch and we get to visit every week at church. Anyway, after being at the office for a few weeks, I finally got my office semi-decorated. And just as I did, I started working in the Pharmacy full time :) So now, I am rarely in my office to enjoy the ambiance. AND I haven't gotten around to finishing the decorating either because I forget about it until it is time to go home every day! Maybe sometime I will finish decorating. But for now, this is what it looks like:

I brought a whole bunch of stuff from home that was taking up a bunch of space or being stored and not used. This plant is no longer in there and replaced with a different one because it was not doing well at all.

I just bought this chair recently at the Rink! I love it!

My Last Supper(s)

Well as many of you might already know, I will be starting a new job in January. I am so sad to leave my friends and co-workers at Mayfair but at least Matt and I are going to still be members there so I should be able to see them often. However, I am looking forward to my new job. I am going to be working at a Pediatric Home Health Care Clinic getting lots of medical field experience/patient experience...plus I get to work with my mom! She is the boss!

Last Thursday, the staff took me out to lunch for my first "last supper" even though I still had a few days in the office and I will be working throughout the end of the year from Houston. It was when we could all get together before the holidays during work. I chose Musashi's but it was a really long wait so we ended up at Macaroni Grill instead. Still very delicious but in different ways.

The staff gave me a gift card to Michael's (which will come in very handy since I am always in need of crafty supplies), some beautiful pink flowers, an iTunes gift card, and some Lindor Chocolate (my favorite). Not to mention some funny and very nice cards.

On Tuesday, those of us that were in town and my sister-in-law, Deanna, went to lunch for my second "last supper." Besides almost being run over by a Crazy Christmas Shopping-Cell Phone Talking-SUV driving-Woman that wasn't paying attention, it was fun! This time we went to Poblano's. It too was delicious and then we toured the "Beautiful Northpark Mall." In the parking lot we saw a car that was decorated as a Rudolf (complete with nose and antlers) and Brennon pretended to be a dancing Santa (the proof is below)!I can't figure out how to make this video not be sideways so you will have to tilt your computer...sorry about that :)

I am really going to miss all my friends at Mayfair...no more tranny jokes (at least daily anyway), no more crazy El-ShaDerek/Katie (your name isn't funny) days and song writing days, no more Pam/Katie/Shannon antiquing lunches, no more "B"eau, "B"rennon and "D"ave and many other fun times. However, we will still have lots of fun outside of work! Plus, now I get to spend more time with my mom and I get to be back in the medical field learning all kinds of new things! And just remember former co-worker friends...I am still Adjuct Staff so you will be hearing from me often!! Have a good 2009! I will miss you all :(

A few more random pics of the Mayfair Staff just for more Christmas fun...

These two are from our Christmas Lunch at the Davis' house. We walked and sang Christmas carols to Thurman and Peggy's because they only live a few blocks but it was FREEZING!!
Peggy made us a delicious lunch and afterwards, Derek entertained us at the "kids" end of the table with his amazing magic tricks!!

Katie christened our new camera with this beautiful picture a few weeks ago :)

El-ShaDerek

frMy friend Katie had a super-funny idea on Thursday. Derek, our-co-worker, used to be "in love" with Amy Grant when he was groing up. We have been joking about it for a while in the office and then we decided to give Derek the ultimate Christmas present: to fill his moleskine (a pocket book that he carries daily on his person) with old pictures of Amy Grant and lyrics of songs (that we altered). We started with this picture and love note from Amy to Derek because the red velvet dress was his fav!!

And there were several pictures/lyrics to follow like these two.

We had been sneaky all day so he wouldn't catch on to what we were doing until he was already gone for vacation, however, he figured it out pretty quick. When Katie gave him his moleskine back, he noticed it was a lot fatter instantly and saw what we did. It was still pretty hilarious though! Derek Waugh...you've been punked :)

Mayfair Staff Christmas Party!!!

My friend Katie posted about this recently. I don't think I could say it any better so I will let her tell you about all of the hilarious fun! Just click on her name and look up the December 15th post to find out about it. As she said, if anyone would like to know how to play Pictonary Phone, just ask me (or Katie)...its a really fun game :)
