Installing a Husband

This might be old news to some people but I thought it was one of the better email forwards I have received in a while. But I just now read it in my inbox and noticed it was sent like in March or something. Oops! Sorry if you have read this already...

Dear Tech Support ,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0 .

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 , and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0 , NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1 .

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

Signed,

Desperate.

DEAR DESPERATE ,

First, keep in mind that Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour7.0 or Beer 6.1 . Please note that Beer 6. 1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta .

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources).

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0 .

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck!

Lucy vs. Her Vaccintions....

and the winner is.........the vaccinations :( Poor Lucy had to go and get her annual vaccinations along with a check up on her heart condition and she ended up having a very rough day. This is her 4th time to have annual vaccinations and the last two times have been very eventful. The first time, she lived with other owners, the second time was normal, but the third time she looked like this but worse when I got home:

I picked her up and as soon as we got home she started panting like crazy, licking her paws furiously and rubbing her body on anything she could. And then she started to break out in hives all over her body and her face swelled much like the picture above but worse. I immediately panicked and drove 30 minutes back to the vet in which the whole time I was balling and thinking Lucy's throat was going to swell and she would stop breathing before I made it back to the vet. Once I got there, they gave her a benedryl shot and assured me she would be fine and she was. On the way home, I took these pics in the car at the gas station. The swelling has already gone down immensely at this point because before she had the shot, she couldnt even open her eyes at all!!

We got her home and all was well until today. We had to take her again for her shots and this time they gave her a prophylactic benedryl shot before the vaccinations AND we left her there all day so they could make sure it wouldnt happen again but wouldnt you know, as soon as Matt got home, she had the same exact reaction as last year!! He rushed her back for steriod shots this time and again she looked much like the pictures above (I lost or had my camera stolen this week so I dont have pics of her from tonight).

It is so weird that this would happen again and that she never had ANY problems the first two years of her life w/ her vaccinations. Whats the deal?? Well I felt really bad that she had such a rough day and that I was busy entertaining all night. Last year that happened when we had people over as well. Luckily tonight, Matt was able to stay with her and make sure she was okay while us ladies played Bunco. Nothing like a little drama to make the day exciting! On another note, we had a super fun night of Bunco and now that everyones gone, I can take care of my fur kid for the rest of the night. Its events like this that make me paranoid to have kids. Imagine how much more worried I would be about a baby than just my dog!! They would have had to give me a steriod shot for sympathy hives :)

Lessons learned: Lucy hates vaccinations, never plan anything else the whole day that Lucy has to get shots next year becuase you never know what will happen and make sure to take lots of pictues becuase she looks super cute with her chubby face :)

Happy Nurse Appreciation Day!!!

In honor of this joyous occasion, I made cupcakes for our nurses at work and for the hospice nurses we work with. I have been looking forward to making these crazy cupcakes for like a week and after its all said and done, I dont like them as much as I thought I would. Mainly because I am a perfectionist and had to settle with decorations I didnt really want but in the end they turned out pretty cute for my first go around. Thanks again to Katie for getting me the crazy cupcake book for my birthday which has inspired me to make alot of cupcakes recently. Here is what they looked like:
The picture above is the first batch. I didnt like them as well as the second batch. You cant tell very well in the first picture, but they all have old fashioned nurses hats on, which is pretty much the only distinction between nurses and you average cupcake person.

The picture above and the two below are of the batch I made Tuesday night. They turned out much better. Some of them have cherrio hair, icing hair and either peanut butter or chocolate candy hair.
So be sure to tell all the nurses you know today that you appreciate them and the hard work they do!! Happy Nurse Appreciation Day!

Who all seen the leprechaun!!!

Check out this video, its pretty funny.

Chubby Cheetos

If you havent heard of the new phenomenon invented, let me introduce it to you...its BIG CHEETOS! Although regular cheetos are my favorite, I tend to buy new things because they are over or undersized or come in some fancy new packaging to try it at least once. Marketing works people!! But anyway, they are big cheeto puffs the size and shape of a regular size marshmallow. This led us to invent a new game based on the old faithful church camp game, Chubby Bunny only its called Chubby Cheeto (real creative name I know).

Matt always likes to see how much of various food items he can fit into his mouth every opportunity he gets, so I thought he would be a perfect candidate for this game. Here is a previous example of one of these instances. Matt fit 20-something grapes in his mouth in this picture. This was at least 3-4 years ago.

But he had to rush to the kitchen sink because he started laughing too much and was about to spit a whole bunch out on the couch.

So we just started at the kitchen sink for the cheetos in case he couldnt hold them very long. And here he is to meet the challenge again:

This time, it looks like the cheetos got the best of Matt, he was only able to put 5 in his mouth at once. Of all the many reasons I married Matthew, the ability to put large amounts of food in his mouth all at once is not the number one quality I was looking for. But it sure adds some fun to the day on occasion :)

I love you Matty!! (even though sometimes youre disgusting--I guess thats what makes you a boy)
